<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the presence/absence of a calculation error while preventing upsizing of a device compared to the prior art. <P>SOLUTION: A scientific electronic calculator 1 has: an arithmetic digit number storage area 62 storing an arithmetic digit number "n"; an input part 20 inputting a numerical expression based on user operation; a decimal arithmetic unit 70 calculating the numerical expression by the arithmetic digit number "n"; a CPU 40 distinguishing the presence/absence of the error inside each calculation numerical value based on whether a digit number of a mantissa part of each calculation numerical value included in the input numerical expression is not more than the arithmetic digit number "n" or not, and distinguishing that a calculation result by the decimal arithmetic unit 70 has the error when it is distinguished that one of the calculation numerical values has the error; and a display part 30 displaying a distinction result by the CPU 40 and the calculation result by the decimal arithmetic unit 70. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
