PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a plasma display device simple in control by having a small number of circuit elements, and having a short voltage frequency. SOLUTION: The method of controlling the plasma display device has: a first step (t4) for turning on a second switch means (CD1) and a third switch means (CU2) by turning off a first switch means (CU1) and a fourth switch means (CD2); a second step for turning off the second to the fourth switch means by turning on the first switch means after the first step; and a third step (t2) for turning off the second and third switch means by turning on the first and fourth switch means after the second step.
