<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device of which the heat generated from a light source substrate on which a point-like light source is mounted is efficiently dispersed and peeling of the light source substrate is prevented, having a structure for easy replacement with no breakage or disconnection of the light source device, relating to a planar light source device where the point-like light source is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: A light source substrate cover 5 is arranged on a mounting surface 41 side of a point-like light source 3 of a light source substrate 4, and a support member 6 is arranged on a rear surface 42 side. A protruding part 5b and a tip part 5c of the light source substrate cover 5 are made to agree with the formation position of a recess 6a of the support member 6. The protruding part 5b and the tip part 5c are engaged with the recess 6a, for securing respective members. Since the light sour substrate 4 is sandwiched and supported between the light source substrate cover 5 and the support member 6, deformation and deflection of the light source substrate 4 are prevented.
