<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience to users and make efficient use of a resource in a network printing system. <P>SOLUTION: A server registers printer abilities in advance as candidates for transmission destination by associating the respective printers with the printer abilities described in message bodies of SIP-REGISTER requests from printers connected to a network. When receiving a printing request according to an SIP request, the server interprets printing job information described in the message body, selects a printer which is determined on the basis of the ability and condition of a registered printer, and informs a printing request source of the selected printer.
