<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring glucose with high sensitivity using a eukaryotic microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: Glucose is metabolized by the eukaryotic microorganism and the metabolic activity of the eukaryotic microorganism is measured to detect or quantify the sugar content in a solution containing glucose. When glucose is metabolized by the eukaryotic microorganism, an oxidation type oil-soluble mediator and an oxidation type hydrophilic mediator are allowed to be present and a formed reductive type hydrophilic mediator is detected or quantified by an electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
