<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery which has a long life and in which occurrence of an internal short circuit is suppressed even if high tightening of an electrode group and thinning of a separator are achieved, and furthermore, of which manufacturing is easy. <P>SOLUTION: The nickel-hydrogen secondary battery is equipped with a cylindrical outer package-can having electroconductivity, and an electrode group which is housed in the outer package-can together with an alkaline electrolytic solution, and which is formed by a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate 6 wound around in a spiral form via a separator. The negative electrode plate 6 includes a metallic substrate 30 having a plurality of holes 30a, and hydrogen storage alloy particles 32 retained by the substrate 30, and among the hydrogen storage alloy particles 32, the average diameter of the first hydrogen storage alloy particles 32a positioned in the hole 30a is larger than the thickness of the substrate 30, and larger compared with the average particle diameter of the second hydrogen storage alloy particles 32b positioned exterior the hole 30a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
