PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejection device which can satisfactorily maintain fluid accepting ability in a storable fluid acceptor for a long term by accepting fluid discharged as waste fluid from a nozzle opening of a fluid ejection head. SOLUTION: The fluid ejection device includes a recording head 21 for ejecting ink, a flashing box 88 storable by accepting waste ink discharged from the recording head 21, a suction pump which sucks the waste ink from the flashing box 88 interior and can discharge the waste ink out of the flashing box 88 interior, a fluid discharge way which communicates when the waste ink stored in the flashing box 88 by the suction pump is sucked and discharged, and a valve body 108 which is energized by a predetermined energizing force to a valve closing direction for always closing its fluid discharge path and which, when the suction force of the suction pump is larger than the energizing force, displaces in the valve opening direction for opening the fluid discharge path against the energizing force.
