PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one coat electrodeposition coating being of low deposition type and capable of forming a coated film of thick film by one coating and exhibiting excellent coated film performances. SOLUTION: A method for applying one coat electrodeposition coating comprises pre-treating a metal material 1 to modify the metal material 1 in a surface state suitable for applying electrodeposition coating and carrying out electrodeposition coating with one coat electrodeposition coating containing 4.5-10.5 wt.% amino-modified epoxy resin, 3-7 wt.% amino-modified acrylic resin, 1.5-3.5 wt.% coloring and extender pigment, a curing accelerating catalyst, an additive and pure water to form a first coated film 2 having excellent coated film performance.
