PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device with high operatability capable of establishing a condition in which a cartridge and a thermal head can be exchanged by one time operation. SOLUTION: The printing device has an exchanging mechanism 200 capable of exchanging the cartridge and the thermal head by one time operation. The exchanging mechanism 200 is constituted by having a cartridge lock 1a locking the cartridge, a head holder 21 holding the thermal head, a head holder moving member 22 moving the holder 21 relative to a platen roller 32, a head holder pushing and pressing portion 23 coupled to the moving member 22 and pushing and pressing the holder 21 relative to the roller 32, a shaft 30 coupling the lock 1a and the moving member 22, and a lever 1 for rotating the shaft 30. The lock 1a releases the lock of the cartridge, the pushing and pressing portion 23 releases the pushing and the pressing to the holder 21, and the moving member 22 moves the holder 21 so as to evacuate from the roller 32 by turning the shaft 30 via the lever 1.
