PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation treatment apparatus of residue and muddy sand that reduces an operating cost, suppresses the generation of trouble such as damage, and is designed to stabilize and secure a started quantity. SOLUTION: The separation treatment apparatus C is installed so that a long cylinder with both ends closed is slanted. The interior of a separation treatment tank 8 is provided with a screw conveyor 20 that is rotatively driven, and a stationary cylinder 24 and a rotary cylinder 25 at a lower section that are separated to coaxially communicate with each other. The rotary cylinder is rotated circumferentially and is provided with a porus screen through which separated sand and water can pass at a portion at which a lower rotation in the outer circumference meets. The residue and sand injected from an injection port 28 at the lower section are conveyed to the upper portion by the screw conveyor, the sand passes through the screen at the lower section of the rotary cylinder and flows through in a gap with the separation treatment apparatus and is discharged from separated sand discharge ports 14, 15 at the lower section, and the residue is discharged from a discharge port 46 at the upper section.
