The coil (1) has a winding (3) formed by an electrical conductor and embedded in an electrically insulated shroud (10). The shroud is in thermal contact with the winding and is partially composed of a material i.e. plastic material, with high heat conductivity. A hollow space axially interfuses the coil and is filled with an electrically insulated material with high heat conductivity. The shroud is partially enclosed by a housing (12). The plastic material is selected from a group of liquid crystal polymer plastic, polyamide plastic, polypropylene plastic and polyphenylene sulfide plastic.
