This invention provides an apparatus for cooling a tire after vulcanization, which, by allowing air blown against a tire after vulcanization to uniformly spread over the outer circumferential surface of the vulcanized tire, can realize uniform cooling and shortening of the cooling time and can shield the diffusion of soot produced from the tire after vulcanization. The apparatus comprises a cylindrical hood (5) disposed so as to surround the whole outer circumference of the vulcanized tire (1), a plurality of air blowing means (4) mounted on the cylindrical hood, and an annular gap (S) formed between the outer circumferential surface of the vulcanized tire and the internal circumference of the cylindrical hood. The plurality of air blowing means are provided at substantially equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical hood so as to face the annular gap in such a state that air is blown against the outer circumferential surface of the vulcanized tire.
