PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and strong rotary device for rotating a work unit of a soil stripping device around a vertical line. SOLUTION: This soil stripping device 10 has a base body 32 which can be connected to a carrier implement such as a crawler vehicle, the work unit 20 supported on the base body 32 in a rotatable manner by a bearing device and attached with an underground work tool such as a grab bucket 55, and the rotary device for rotating the work unit to the base body. The rotary device has at least a linear driving device 44 and a rope or chain transmission device 50, and converts linear motion generated by the linear driving device into rotary motion by the transmission device.
