FIXED CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT

A fixed constant velocity universal joint in which frictional force is reduced by sufficiently placing a lubricant between torque transmission balls and guide grooves. The fixed constant velocity universal joint has an outer joint member (1) having an axially extending guide groove (1b) formed on its spherical inner peripheral surface (la) and also having a lubricant placed inside the outer joint member, an inner joint member (2) installed on the inner diameter side of the outer joint member (1) and having axially extending guide grooves (2b) formed on its spherical outer peripheral surface, torque transmission balls (3) rollably interposed between the opposed guide grooves (lb, 2b) of both joint members (1, 2), and a cage (4) for holding the balls (3). A large number of minute recesses are randomly formed in the surfaces of the balls (3).
