A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LIMITING THE CALL

A method and apparatus for limiting the call are provided. Media Gateway ( MGW) sets the maximum virtual tunnel number, the method includes: determining whether the presently occupied virtual tunnel number and the maximum virtual number meet the predetermined condition according to the handover request or the call request, or determining whether the presently non-occupied virtual tunnel number meets the predetermined condition; if meeting the predetermined condition, allocating the virtual tunnel for the user corresponding to said request; otherwise, rejecting to allocate the virtual tunnel for the user corresponding to said request. The predetermined condition may be whether the presently occupied virtual tunnel number reaches the maximum virtual tunnel number. The embodiments of the present invention implement the limit for the access user number, in order to ensure the service quality of the access user.
