<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive which can check the tilt of the disk without preparing an exclusive light source for tilt sensing even when the disk has foreign substances stuck to its surface. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive radiating the information acquiring light to its reflective surface to obtain the information from the reflected light has: a light source to emit a laser beam, a hologram unit to separate the above laser beam into zero-order light and ±first-order light, a photodetector to receive the above ±first-order light reflected on the reflective surface to detect the amounts of light, and a tilt detector to detect the tilt of the disk from the results of the above photodetector. The above zero-order light is radiated to be focused on the reflective surface and used as the information acquisition light, but the ±first-order light is radiated not to be focused on the reflective surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
