PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micropattern working method preferably used for forming a nest disposed in a metal mold and having a micropattern, a method of manufacturing a metal mold, and a method of manufacturing an optical part, whereby the nest having the micropattern is formed with high accuracy and efficiently. SOLUTION: In this micropattern working method for forming a micropattern on a cutting master 10 used in forming a nest 20, using a cutting tool 40, first a nickel layer to which at least phosphorus or selenium is added is formed on the surface of the cutting master 10 in the blank state.
