PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor that monitors the failure in body fluid collection that may occur in this process and detects variations in the dilution rate when diluting the collected body fluid with a dilution liquid, and also a living body measuring apparatus using this monitor, e.g., an artificial pancreas apparatus that administers the appropriate volume of hormones, etc. to a patient. SOLUTION: The monitor is provided with the first optical sensor installed at a dilution liquid passage for introducing the dilution liquid into a body fluid collector, the second optical sensor installed at a diluted body fluid passage, in the vicinity of the first optical passage, for introducing diluted body fluid, a mixture of the body fluid from the body fluid collector and the dilution liquid, into a living body measuring sensor, and an operation means to determine whether variations in the dilution rate when diluting the body fluid with a dilution liquid are within the range of threshold values from the detection data output of the first and second optical sensors.
