PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil transfer method for transferring a foil to a substrate to be transferred capable of minimizing the amount of the foil transferred to the transfer surface of the substrate, and to provide a foil transfer apparatus for transferring a foil to the substrate. SOLUTION: After an ultraviolet-curing adhesive C1 is printed on the transfer surface of the substrate A1 to be transferred, a foil-attached substrate B is superposed on the ultraviolet-curing adhesive C1 printed on the substrate A1, thus pressing the foil Bb printed on the foil-attached substrate B onto the ultraviolet-curing adhesive C1 of the substrate A1 to stick the foil body thereto. Furthermore, the foil-attached substrate B pressed is supplied on the next ultraviolet-curing adhesive C1 printed on the substrate A1. A substrate Ba is peeled off from the foil body Bb stuck to the ultraviolet-curing adhesive C1 of the substrate A1, and the minimum quantity of the foil body Bb is transferred to the transfer surface of a substrate A2 in a desired printing pattern.
