PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic liquid battery having as a battery element an electrode wound body 6 of nearly circular column shape in which a positive electrode 3 of large thickness dimension and short sheet shape is wound around together with a negative electrode 4 and a separator 5, in which the outer package can is certainly prevented from getting into an abnormal high temperature state at the time of short circuit, by a simple method. SOLUTION: The contact area of the outermost peripheral part of an electrode wound body 6 against the inner wall of the outer package can 2 is established at 75% or more and 90% or less. Thereby, thermal conduction efficiency from the electrode wound body 6 to the outer package can 2 can be improved, and heat radiation amount from the outer package can 2 to the surrounding environment is increased, and heat radiation efficiency of the nonaqueous electrolytic liquid battery can be improved as a whole. That is, since the heat transmission area of the inner wall of the outer package can 2 that can absorb heat generation from the electrode wound body 6 is enlarged, heat conduction efficiency to the outer package can 2 is improved, and the heat radiation efficiency of the nonaqueous electrolytic liquid battery can be improved.
