PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for application of a protection agent, with which a given amount of the protection agent can be always applied to a connection part between a wiring board and a lead pin without requiring techniques or skills of a worker. SOLUTION: Reservoir sections 23 retaining the protection agent 21 are formed in at least peripheral sections of a reservoir tank 22 opposing to each other, and an island-like stage 24 is formed in the inner region of the opposing reservoir sections 23. Grooves 25 are formed on the upper face of the stage 24, the grooves having at least two bottom faces in different depths to be filled with the protection agent 21; wherein the depth dimension in the deepest part of one bottom face is determined so that the protection agent 21 in an required amount can be applied while the connection part is immersed to be in contact with the bottom face, and the grooves 24 having two bottom faces in different depths are arranged in the width direction to form at least two steps.
