PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress excessive supply of a developer to a developing roller and to suppress generation of irregular picture quality in an image forming apparatus that develops an image by using a liquid developer. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus X1 is equipped with a photoreceptor drum 10, a developing roller 40a, a development container 40, developer conveying means 40b, 40c, and a sucking device 53. The developing roller 40a is disposed opposing to the photoreceptor drum 10. The development container 40 stores a liquid developer. The developer conveying means 40b, 40c include a pump roller 40c disposed in contact with the liquid developer stored in the development container 40 and extended parallel to the axial direction of the developer roller 40a, and supply the liquid developer pumped by the pumping roller 40c to the developing roller 40a. The sucking device 53 has two suction ports disposed near the both ends of the pumping roller 40c in the axial direction and can suck the liquid developer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
