PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a color display in which color mixing is suppressed. SOLUTION: A dispersion liquid 24 is filled between a translucent display substrate 18 and a rear substrate 28 placed opposite to the display substrate 18. Also two kinds of colored particles 32 which are charged with polarities reverse to each other, of which the voltage ranges necessary for moving according to electric fields are different from each other, and which are colored with mutually different colors, are filled between the substrates.
