<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which has a high recording sensitivity, enables attainment of an excellent image quality even it is printed with a low energy and has an excellent heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording medium is constituted by sequentially providing an undercoat layer and a thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye and a coloring agent on a paper substrate, and the undercoat layer has a multilayer structure composed at least of a first undercoat layer and a second undercoat layer formed on the first undercoat layer. The first undercoat layer is formed by coating by a blade coating method and by drying and the second undercoat layer and subsequent ones are formed by coating by a rod coating method and by drying. The melting point of the coloring agent is 140°C or above and average particle diameters of the leuco dye and the coloring agent are in the range of 0.2-0.6 μm respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
