METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDOFF USING MULTI-THRESHOLD

A handoff method using multiple threshold values and a device therefore are provided to reduce the number of handoff times, thereby decreasing a burden of a network as cutting down a waste of using repeaters, consequently repeaters with deficient capacities can be efficiently used. Each absolute threshold value for handoff is determined for QoS(Quality of Service) of plural services(S610). Strength of the first receiving signal incoming from the currently serviced station and strength of the second receiving signal incoming from a neighboring station are measured(S620). Handoff of a mobile communication terminal is performed on the basis of the strengths of the first and second receiving signals and an absolute threshold value for QoS of the currently used service by the terminal among the absolute threshold values(S630-S650).
