A video recording system and a backup control method thereof are provided to select plural section video data as a backup object at once, and store the selected video data in one file. A storage unit(110) records video data. A data backup unit(120) backs up and stores the recorded video data. A UI(User Interface) providing unit(140) provides a UI screen capable of selecting plural section video data of the recorded video data as a backup object. A control unit(130) controls the data backup unit to backup the video data selected as the backup object on the UI screen.
