A color registration apparatus, a method thereof, an image forming apparatus using the same and an image output method thereof are provided to perform correction by using a test pattern corresponding to shape information of an actually-formed image area, thereby exactly correcting location arrangement, skew quantity, shift quantity and each shape information magnification. A detecting unit(510) detects location information and outline shape information of a test pattern by each color in proportion to standards of a print medium as a transfer object formed on an image transfer path by an image forming apparatus. A control unit(530) feeds back a degree of mis-registration to the image forming apparatus based on the data detected by the detecting unit. Therefore, the control unit corrects color registration.
