The cutting register regulation method is for a printing machine (2) which has a longitudinal cutter (3a,b) for slitting the web (B) into two strings (B1,2). There is a guide (8,9) for feeding the web strings together with a further web to a bundle. The length of movement of the web strings of the bundle prior to assembling and path length alteration is adjusted so that the cutting register position for the web strings can be regulated.
