An uplink transmission parameter deciding apparatus comprises a means for receiving channel status information from a mobile station; a means for storing correspondences among the channel status information, an uplink modulation scheme, a channel encoding rate and both or one of the transmission bandwidth and transmission power of the mobile station; a means for deriving from those correspondences a set of transmission parameters; and a means for notifying the mobile station of the set of transmission parameters.
