FLASH MEMORY DEVICE AND SYSTEM INCLUDING BUFFER MEMORY, AND DATA UPDATING METHOD OF THE FLASH MEMORY DEVICE

A flash memory device including a buffer memory, and a flash memory system and a data update method thereof are provided to improve system performance with a simplified data update operation by updating data stored in the buffer memory with one DMA(Direct Memory Access) operation. A buffer memory(170) temporarily stores data to be stored to a flash memory(160) or the data read from the flash memory. A controller(100) contains a buffer controller(110) for changing the data in the buffer memory with a jump operation moving the flash memory data not requiring change around an area placing the data to be changed in the buffer when the smaller data than a block unit of the flash memory is changed. The jump operation is performed by one DMA operation to the buffer memory from the flash memory. The buffer controller includes a jump table unit(120) storing more than one jump table used for the jump operation. Each jump table includes a jump starting register storing a starting address of the area storing the data to be changed in the buffer memory and a jump target register storing an end address placing the data to be changed.
