An overrunning clutch assembly 48 includes a first ring 46 comprising rockers 80 and a second ring 50 comprising rockers 62. A control member 98 is operable to move about an axis 30 alternately to prevent first rockers 80 from engaging with notches 70 and to permit the first rockers 82 to engage with the notches 70. Said second rockers 62 are arranged to engage with notches 68 dependent on the direction of rotation. The clutch assembly may be used in an automatic transmission.
