ELECTRONIC BLOOD PRESSURE METER HAVING BLOOD PRESSURE CALCULATION SYSTEM

A definite amount of air is blown into an air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) followed by closing. The P-V characteristics of a CPU (30) are preliminarily measured. The air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) is wound around the measurement site. Pressure is externally applied to the air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) so that the inner pressure of the air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) is elevated and blood vessels are compressed. During this process, the external pressure applied to the air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) is varied and the cuff pressure of the air bag for measuring blood pressure (50) caused by the vascular volume change and pressure pulse wave data are detected. To the data thus detected, the cuff compliance characteristics obtained from the preliminarily measured P-V characteristics are added for correcting the pressure pulse wave, thereby calculating the blood pressure.
