An apparatus and a method for providing a preview function of a menu object are provided to enable a user to grasp a menu of a downloaded broadcasting application easily by providing the menu preview function to the user. An input unit(110) receives an event input from a user. An event processing unit(130) highlights an object, capable of user input, displayed on a screen according to the input of the event. A display unit(160) displays the highlighted object. An object setup unit(120) determines whether the object is a UI(User Interface) object capable of receiving a key event. An object determining unit(140) determines an object capable of user input among objects provided on the screen according to a request of the event processing unit.
