Implant (1) comprises a base body with a bone contact surface and a soft tissue contact surface. The soft tissue contact surface and/or a transition region from the bone contact surface to the soft tissue contact surface has a ceramic coating (2). The bone contact surface has regions provided with a ceramic coating. An independent claim is also included for a process for coating an implant with a ceramic.
