The device has a melt inlet (2) and a melt outlet (3), and a distributing unit (6) arranged between the melt inlet and the melt outlet. The distributing unit is connected with the device, and a defined gap (9) i.e. annular gap, is present between the distributing unit and a base part (10) of the device. The distributing unit is screwed with a connecting ring (4), where the distributing unit is a filtering basket, a filtering plate and a radial distributor, and the gap is changeable in width. An independent claim is also included for a method for influencing a product quality of an extruded plastic profile.
