LIMITED FORWARDING OF ROUTING CONTROL MESSAGE FOR ROUTE SETUP BETWEEN INTERNET GATEWAY AND MANET NODES IN MOBILE AD HOC NETWORK USING MULTIPLE INTERNET GATEWAYS

A method for limiting a delivery range of a routing control message for path setup between IGWs(Internet Gateways) and MNs(Mobile Nodes) in an MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) using multiple IGWs is provided to limit delivery of the routing control message within the same area during a path setup process between MANET nodes and IGWs, thereby increasing a total transmission rate of the MNs. When an MANET node receives a routing control message(S500), the node compares whether a self prefix address is the same as a prefix address of the first generation node of the received routing control message(S502). If so, the node updates a routing table by using the routing control message(S504). The node delivers the routing control message to a next hop(S506). If the compared values are not the same, the node discards the routing control message(S508).
