A telecommunication system comprising: a plurality of packet-switched services of a mobile communication network; a network access gateway for providing access to a client terminal, which is non-compliant with the protocol of the mobile communication network; a packet data gateway for providing access further to the packet- switched services of the mobile communication network; and an AAA system for authenticating and authorising a user of the client terminal accessing the telecommunication system. The system further comprises: a PANA Authentication Agent for verifying a PANA identity of the terminal and an identity of the PANA client associated with the terminal accessing the telecommunication system; and a PANA Enforcement Point, integrated with said packet data gateway, for providing a further mutual authentication with a security association between the PANA client and the Enforcement Point and for filtering the inbound and outbound data packets of client terminal.
