The converter has an inductive energy storage element (10) e.g. storage inductor, coupled to a rectifier (21) and providing an output voltage (Vout). A switching arrangement (30) receives a control signal (S40) that regulates the element, and a controller (43) generates the control signal based on the voltage and comprises a discrete time band rejection filter and a frequency measuring arrangement. The filter receives an error signal (S41) dependent on the voltage, where the error signal is sampled in accordance with a clock signal to generate a filter signal (S42).
