A polarizer having excellent durability, a polarizing plate, and a producing method thereof are provided to enhance durability by using an additive including phosphorous. A method for manufacturing a PVA film polarizing element includes a dyeing process, a cross-linking process, an extending process, and a drying process. An additive including phosphorous is added to one or more process of the dyeing process, the cross-linking process, and the extending process. The additive including the phosphorous is selected from a phosphoric acid, a first potassium phosphate, a second potassium phosphate, a second magnesium phosphate, a first sodium phosphate, or a first ammonium phosphate.
