A multiple display system includes a host computer, a main display, multiple external displays that may connect to the host computer, and a multiple of display detecting units. The display detecting units is used for real-time detecting the state of respective external displays respectively. The detected signals are transmitted to the said host computer. The said host computer is used for real-time recording the display mode and the display contents of external display connected to it. When the host computer has received the detected signals from the said display detect units, which performs the corresponding display control. If the detected signals show that the host computer isn't connected to the external displays, the host computer stops recording and stores the present recorded contents, modifies the display mode, and transmits the contents of the external displays to the main display. If the detected signals show that the host computer is connected to the external display, it recovers the stored content and automatically sets the display contents of the external displays according to the corresponding record of the external display. The invention also provides a method for automatically setting display mode of the multiple display system. |
