A switching hub and an LAN(Local Area Network) system are provided flexibly to cope with setup of frame relay even when plural VLANs(Virtual LANs) are installed, without causing the complexity of a configuration of a network device. In a switching hub(1), A port unit(3) consists of plural ports(3A-3N) installed to connect a communication cable on a side of a body(2). A port processor(4) has a receiving port processor(4A) and a transmission port processor(4B). A filter processor(5) has a receiving filter processor(5A) and a transmission filter processor(5B). A switching processor(6) determines a VLAN which relays a frame. An FDB(7) registers an address of a transmitter of the frame. A controller(8) sets VLAN-IDs equivalent to the plural ports of the port unit.
