A flexible display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent change in characteristics or damage to elements of the flexible device due to physical transformation during the manufacture of the flexible display device, by patterning hard buffer elements on a flexible substrate and forming the elements on the patterned buffer elements. A plurality of hard buffer pieces(13) are patterned on a flexible substrate(11) before depositing gate electrodes, a gate-insulating layer, source electrodes, drain electrodes, and semiconductor layers. The hard buffer pieces correspond to respective red, green, and blue sub-pixels constituting one pixel(12). The red, green, and blue sub-pixel pieces are formed on the respective patterned buffer segments for one display mode selected from TFT(Thin Film Transistor), OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode), LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), and electrophoresis types. Gate lines, data lines, ground lines, and driving power lines are formed between the buffer segments. |
