The invention relates to pharmaceutical formulations comprising a farnes yl dibenzodiazepinone compound, or an analog, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant and having improved chemical and biological properties. Such a formulation is a ready-t o- use solution suitable for parenteral or non-parenteral administration or a bulk formulation for ex tempore preparation. The present invention also relates to therapeuti c methods using the formulations, and methods for their preparation.
