<p>A hood latch apparatus for a vehicle is provided to prevent a vehicle from being stolen by restraining rotation of a pawl lever through interference between a pawl stopper and the pawl lever. A hood latch apparatus for a vehicle comprises a latch base(2) fixed to a vehicle body. A first pawl lever(4) is hinged to one side of the latch base such that the first pawl lever is locked with a striker installed at a hood. A first pawl lever spring(6) is coupled with the latch base and the first pawl lever to elastically support the first pawl lever. A second pawl lever(8) is hinged to the other side of the latch base such that the second pawl lever is locked with the first pawl lever. A second pawl lever spring(10) is coupled with the second pawl lever and the latch base to elastically support the second pawl lever. A release wire(12) is connected with a hood release handle installed at the interior of a vehicle such that the release wire is manipulated by the second pawl lever and a driver. A pawl stopper(20) restrains rotation of the second pawl lever.</p> |
