A BLU(Back Light Unit) and a flexible printed circuit board for the back light unit are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by using PET(Polyethylene terephthalate) material and to reduce a thickness of the flexible printed circuit board by not requiring a separate white printing layer. A flexible printed circuit board for a BLU includes a base film(310), a copper foil(320), and a cover film(330). The copper foil has a predetermined circuit pattern and is formed on an upper surface of the base film. An LED(Light Emitting Diode) is electrically connected to the circuit pattern of the copper foil to emit light. The cover film covers an exposed surface of the copper foil. The base film and cover film are made of white PET material.
