An apparatus for preventing drowsiness based on electrooculogram is provided to determine whether a user is in a drowsiness state or not based on the number of blinking user's eyes calculated by measuring electric potential of eyeballs. An apparatus(100) for preventing drowsiness based on electrooculogram comprises a measuring portion(110) to be attached to a certain parts of the body of users to measure an electric potential information of an eyeball, a control portion(120) to determine whether the user is in a drowsiness state or not based on the electric potential information measured by the measuring portion, and an alarm portion(130) to output an alarm signal when the control portion determined that the user is in a drowsiness state. The electric potential measuring portion includes an eyeball electric potential measuring electrode, a reference electrode, and a ground electrode.
