The column (1) has a tubular shaft (2) comprising two portions (3, 4) rotatably mounted in a tubular housing (7) by respective antifriction bearings (5, 6). Each bearing has an inner ring whose rotation axis is angularly tiltable with respect to an axis of a corresponding outer ring of the bearing. The inner ring is of massive type and comprises of a track with a groove delimited by radial front surfaces.
