A method for connecting ad-hoc communication between portable Internet terminals is provided to minimize user intervention by selecting an operating mode of a portable Internet terminal and receiving an IP(Internet Protocol) address of a portable Internet terminal of a server when being operated in a client mode. A portable Internet terminal of a server is connected with a portable Internet terminal of a client through Internet connection(S210). In the portable Internet terminal of the server, an operation mode is a server mode. In the portable Internet terminal of the client, an operation mode is a client mode. The portable Internet terminal of the server generates ad-hoc communication connection information and a security key for setting ad-hoc communication connection with the portable Internet terminal of the client, and transmits the generated information and key to the portable Internet terminal of the client through the Internet connection(S224). The portable Internet terminal of the client sets ad-hoc communication connection with the portable Internet terminal of the server through the transmitted information(S216). |
