A fusion memory device is provided to perform coding or decoding procedures of multimedia data by itself for reducing a load of a host apparatus. A fusion memory device includes a main memory(130), an assistant memory(120) and a memory controller(110). The main memory stores multimedia data. The assistant memory buffers the multimedia data stored at the main memory. The memory controller, having a coder and a decoder, buffers downloaded multimedia, codes the buffered multimedia data and stores the coded multimedia data at the main memory in case of a write mode. But in case of a read mode, the memory controller decodes the multimedia data stored at the main memory, buffers the decoded multimedia data at the assistant memory, and outputs the buffered multimedia data to a host apparatus. |
