CONTROL SYSTEM USING REMOTE POINTING DEVICE

A control system using a remote pointing device is provided to enable a user to operate a display device by using the remote pointing device, and therefore to progress a presentation without help of an assistant. A control system includes a display unit(100), a laser pointer, a camera(200b), and a computer. The display unit displays information on an inputted background image. The laser pointer generates an optical point on the display unit. The camera captures the background image and the optical point and transmits the captured image to the computer. The computer processes the transmitted image, and outputs the processed image to the display unit. The computer includes an image recognition unit(420) and a display controller(430). The image recognition unit recognizes the transmitted image, separates the transmitted image into the background image and the optical point, and generates a control signal according to position of the optical point. The display controller controls the display unit according to the control signal transmitted from the image recognition unit.
